Responsible Sourcing
Hyatt’s Food. Thoughtfully Sourced. Carefully Served. philosophy guides us in how we select ingredients that are better for people, communities, and the planet.
- Cage-free eggs are used in our restaurants.
- 50% of our seafood procured from Sustainable Seafood Resources.
- Plant based & plant forward menu items are offered in our restaurants and for events
- We prioritize the use of environmentally friendly materials for our To-go containers, which may include post-consumer recycled plastics and paper (FSC-certified), aluminum, or other materials that are easily recyclable.
- When feasible, we also explore compostable options, provided they can be properly processed in a composting facility.
- We serve Fair Trade-certified coffee and ethical tea to promote responsible labor practices in the coffee and tea industries.
Waste & Circularity
- Environmentally preferable straws are used.
- Products that contain plastic microbeads, such as cleaning supplies, are not used.
- Water served using water glass bottle is the default offering for meetings, events and all guestrooms.
- Hydration stations are available in public areas.
- Paper or reusable covers are used for returning cleaned items from laundry or dry cleaning instead of plastic covers.
- Large format bathroom amenities are offered instead of single-used plastic packaging
- Hotel partners with Lumitics to reduce the food waste through AI technology.
- Providing in-room dining mobile ordering and guest service requests instead of traditional paper menu and compendium.
- Promote the use of mobile key entry, as well as, emphasize the recovery and reuse of hotel key cards.
Climate Change & Water
- Lights are turned on in meeting rooms only when needed.
- Our daily operational reports are used to effectively schedule heating and cooling needs.
- Through our Conserve program, we change linens every third day unless requested otherwise, and guests may choose to reuse towels by leaving them hanging.
- Using Hyatt EcoTrack to track sustainability metrics including greenhouse gas emissions, energy, water, waste, and recycling. These insights are important to help advance efficiency improvements.
- Annual energy and water audit are conducted for conservation plans.
- Encourage colleagues to adopt thoughtful approaches that minimize their environmental impact, and foster an environment where individuals feel comfortable supporting and inspiring one another to make meaningful improvements.
