With its strategic proximity to Asia, Australia’s Northern Territory is a compelling and competitive destination for MICE. Our capital city of Darwin boasts a tropical climate and relaxed atmosphere and the city’s international airport is only a 15 minute drive from the world class, award-winning Darwin Convention Centre.

Further south from Darwin is the spectacular desert landscape of Central Australia. Home to the quintessential outback town of Alice Springs, the region is also home to natural icons including the world-heritage listed Uluru Kata-Tjuta National Park.

Direct international aviation services from Singapore to Darwin ensure accessibility and seamless connectivity to the rest of the world. Globally branded hotels and luxury wilderness retreats are framed by iconic landscapes and an enriching cultural heritage and unique nature-based activities deliver experiences that are truly different in every sense.

The Northern Territory Government supports the attraction of international MICE administering the Northern Territory Business Events Support Fund (NTBESF), which provides funding assistance to organisers of qualified MICE. Financial assistance operates on a scale, commencing from a minimum AUD$100 per delegate for MICE proposed for May to September and increasing to a minimum AUD$150 per delegate for MICE taking place in the months of October, March and April. For the period November through to February, the NTBESF offers a minimum AUD$200 per delegate for MICE.

Northern Territory Business Events (NTBE) sits within the NT Government’s Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade and provides independent advice and information for planners and facilitators of MICE in the NT.
