VP of Sales & MICE, Marina Bay Sands

Ong Wee Min is the Vice President of Sales and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions & Exhibitions) at Marina Bay Sands. In this role, he drives strategic sales directives for Marina Bay Sands and is responsible for the overall management of Sands Expo and Convention Centre to ensure its continued success as the top business events and MICE venue in the region. 

Wee Min joined Marina Bay Sands in 2012 as Executive Director of Sales and was responsible in attracting key trade shows and meetings to Marina Bay Sands, positioning it as an award-winning MICE venue with its innovation practices and processes. Recognized as one of the most respected and experience MICE professionals in the region with extensive experience in both venue operations and sales, Wee Min has played critical senior leadership roles in the planning, execution and delivery of the most important events that Singapore has hosted in the past 15 years. 

Since 2013, Wee Min has been active in Singapore Association of Convention & Exhibition Organizers & Suppliers (SACEOS), credited with the successful restructuring of the professional development framework for the Singapore MICE industry through conceptualization and implementation of globally recognized industry accreditation standard (CMP and CEM) in Singapore and the region. Wee Min is also the first Asia to be appointed by the Events Industry Council (EIC) to the CMP Governing Commission, which serves as the central governing body of the CMP accreditation for the global meetings industry. He is also key faculty member for the AIPC (The International Association of Convention Centres) Global Academy, training senior venue managers and nurturing talent in the industry. 

Wee Min holds a Bachelor in Economics from the National University of Singapore with a second major in Political Science. He is Singapore’s first graduate of the Public Venue Management School in Australia and holds a CMP certification from the Convention Industry Council as well as a CEM certification from the International Association of Exhibition and Events (IAEE).
